Week of February 19, 2018

         This will be a very busy week since we will only have 4 days.  The children will be out of school on Monday, February 19th for President's day.  Our class is  busy getting ready for our African American presentation.  It will be held on March 2nd at 8:30 a.m.. More information will be sent home this week about the African American presentation. 
          Below are the skills that we will be working on in class:

  • Identifying, decoding, and reading words with /ar/.
  • Categorization Phoneme
  • Decoding and reading words in content with multi-syllables
  • Identifying the plot within a story
  • Identify, read, write, and use irregular plurals
  • Identify the correct way to use commas in a sentence.
  • Read several stories  for fluency and understanding.  "A Barn Full of Hat" and "A Lost Button"
  • Bible story "Moses"  
  • Problem Solving using three dimensional geometry
  • Number sense
  • Continue to work on addition/subtraction of two digit numbers
  • Addition/Subtraction word problem
  • The life of George Washington
  • Continue to learn about famous African Americans
  • Continue to learn a
