Bible:
Monday
- Teacher/students read and discuss weekly Bible story identifying main idea and key details.
- Teacher introduce students to the weekly Bible story:
“The Walls of Jericho Falls”
Teacher introduce students to weekly Bible Verse:
“I have delivered Jericho into your hands”.
Tuesday
- Devotion: Praise Songs, recite weekly Bible verse, and Prayer
- Teacher/students review the weekly Bible story.
- Students rewrite the weekly Bible story in sequence.
Wednesday:
- Devotion: Prayer and recite weekly Bible verse.
“I have delivered Jericho into your hands.”
Students view and discuss the video on “The Walls of Jericho”
- Complete worksheet:
Thursday:
Devotion: Prayer and recite weekly Bible story “The Walls of Jericho”
- Teacher review weekly Bible story and Bible verse.
- Students put weekly Bible story in order: Worksheet
Friday:
- Weekly Bible Assessment
Spelling:
Monday:
- Teacher introduces the silent letter using the class anchor chart.
- Teacher introduce weekly spelling words: gnat, write, gnu, wrong, know, knot, wrist, gnaw, knob, wrap
Tuesday:
- Teacher reviews the sounds of kn, gn, and wr using class anchor chart.
Wednesday:
- IXL (First Grade) S-1,2,3
Thursday:
Write five spelling words in a complete sentence. Use good letter formation and spacing.
Friday: Weekly Spelling Assessment
- READING:
Monday:
- Teacher introduce weekly high frequency words using classroom flashcards. (been, children, month, question, their, year, country, gather)
- Wonders Your reading workbook (page296)
Tuesday:
- Teacher reviews Cause/effect
Teacher/students read and discuss the cause/effect within the story “Wrapped in Ice” (Wonders Reading/Writing Workshop Book) pages 262-273
- Students complete a worksheet on cause/effect.
Wednesday:
- Teacher reviews cause and effects.
- Students view the following video: cause/effect
- Teacher/students read story “Rain School” (Wonder’s Anthology pp.328-329)
- Students identify and write the cause and effect within the story. (Worksheet) Cause and Effect (Rain School)
Thursday:
- Teacher introduces Similes using class anchor chart
- Students view the following video on similes:
- Workbook page 303 (Practice Book)
Friday:
Weekly Reading Assessment:
