WEEKLY OF February 17, 2020

      This week will be extremely busy as we prepare for the African American Living Museum and program.  It will be on Friday at 1:00.  Parents are invited to come and visit.  Your child should dress as their famous African American.  If you need help with getting something for your child to wear please contact us. Your child should bring their costume to school in a bag or on a hanger with their name on it.  We will assist your child with putting it on.

       This week we will be working on the following skills:

• Reviewing addition and subtraction
• Identifying thing planets
•  Identifying and using adjectives in their writing
• Identify, decode, and read words with /ir/, /er/, /ur/
• Identifying cause and effects within a story.
• Make prediction and confirm the outcome of a story.
• Review high frequency words (another, climb, full, great, poor, through
• Phonemic Awareness drills (phonemic substitution)
• Read about Moses and the Red Sea and the Ten Commandments.
• Identify famous African Americans and their accomplishment.
• Identify American  symbols: The American Flag, Washington, Lincoln, King, Monuments, the Statue of Liberty)

Your child should bring what they will wear in the Living Museum to school on Thursday.
