Week of March 20-24
We have gotten back into the swing of things in our classrooms. Our first week of the 4th term has started off well. The children have enjoyed sharing their adventures of Spring Break and having some St.Patrick's Day fun.
This week we will cover the following:
- nonfiction biographical stories of great inventors
- reading for comprehension and fluency
- ask and answer and sequence reading strategies
- prefixes
- abbreviations
- writing with adjectives that describe
- identifying and decoding words with or, ore, and oar
- basic addition and subtraction
- solving addition and subtraction word problems
- counting sets of mixed coins to $1
- weather
- signs of spring
This week's Spelling Words: born, corn, core, more, roar, soar, torn, worn, store, short
Bonus words: forecast, quarter
Bible and Spelling tests will be given on Thursday this week due to our field trip on Friday!
On Friday (3/24) we have our field trip to the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro. Parents are welcome to join us there. You will pay admission at the center. We will leave school promptly at 8:15 am and should return around 1:30 pm. Students need to wear an ezell tshirt, jeans, tennis shoes and appropriate outer wear(if needed). All students must bring a sack lunch. We will be eating at picnic tables at the Discovery Center. Please send utensils and napkins with your child's lunch. Disposable bags please-no lunch boxes.
Spring Spring will be on April, 7th. Please be looking for information about this fun event/fundraiser.
