Week of January 9, 2017
We hope all had a fun and safe snow day on Friday. We look forward to returning back to school on Monday. We have a lot of things to do and skills to learn. We will work on the following skills:
- Continue to work on reading for fluency and understanding.
- Review identifying cause and effects in reading.
- Review ABC order
- Identify words, decode, and read words with /ai/ and /ay/
- Review compound words.
- Write narratives about building a snowman and living in a snow-globe.
- Reviewing handwriting (forming and spacing words)
- Learn about about Martin Luther King Jr.
- Continue to learn more about rolling things and why things roll.
- Review addition/subtraction facts
- Continue to review place value.
- Add two digit numbers with no regrouping.
- Continue to work on editing skills.

Reminders:
- Please make sure your child wear a coat each day.
- Your child should read at lease 3 AR books a week or 1 AR chapter book
- Continue to allow your child to review addition/subtraction number facts.
