Week of 10-14-19

        The children will begin the week by learning about Christopher Columbus. The children will learn about his voyage to American and why it was important to make the voyage.
         Below are the skills that your child will be working on this week:
  • Continue to work on addition strategies.
  • Continue to learn on animal habitats.
  • Read and discuss the voyage of Christopher Columbus.
  • Identify, decode, and read words with closed syllables.
  • Continue to work on reading for fluency and comprehension.
  • Continue to work on writing sentences using good letter formation and spacing.
  • Recall and rewrite a story in sequence.
  • Identify, decode, and read words with /ng/, /sh/, /th/.
  • Read and discuss weekly Bible story "Abraham Servant Finds a Wife for Isaac'
  • Read and discuss the process a seed goes through before it becomes a pumpkin by reading the story "Pumpkin, Pumpkin".

The children will be going to the Lucky Land Farm on Friday.  Parents are welcome to come.  Your child can ride with you.  If you are going on the field trip and your child will be riding with you please let your child's teacher know as soon as possible.  You will be able to meet us at the farm and your child will be counted as present.  However, you MUST let us know.
The children will need to bring a sack lunch and drink.  They should wear jeans and a EH t-shirt.
The bus will be leaving the school around 8:15.
