I would like to wish all of you a Happy New Year. I hope everyone had a good break. This week the children will review procedures and expectations for the classroom and the entire school. I will be doing assessment on all students in reading. I will assess them in decoding skills, reading comprehension, and reading fluency. Your child should continue to review sight words and math facts daily at home.
We have been invited to go to the Tennessee State Capitol by Jason Potts. The father of Amalie Potts. He is a State Representative for District 59. He has plan an exciting field trip. The field trip will be on Friday, January 25th. There will not be a cost for this field trip. Lunch will be provided. More information will be sent home as we get closer to the field trip.
AR READING:
Your child will begin bringing home books to read from the library on Monday, January 7th. Your child should read at least 3 AR books a week or one chapter book on their reading level. Your child will receive a reading grade this quarter for reading AR books. Please help your child remember to bring their AR book to school each day. Even if your child does not plan on taking a test they should still bring the book to school each day.
