We are continuing to work hard! We are almost back to our "normal" routines. We have many exciting things to look forward to in February.
This week we will be working on the following:
- In Bible we will continue the story of Moses. Our lesson this week will be Moses says"Let my people go!"-Exodus 5-12
- We will be identifying and decoding words with the long o sound spelled with /oa/, /ow/, and /oe/.
- Students will work on identifying and writing proper nouns.
- The children will be writing a narrative, "If I was President".
- We will begin a study of our country including the flag, the president, and national symbols. This will include Presidents' Day.
- Our study of the weather will continue with lessons on storms and wind.
- Our reading unit this week will include stories about animals and how they live.
- We will be working to improve fluency and comprehension in reading. Don't forget to practice daily at home!
- In Social Studies this month we will also be talking about famous African Americans. the children will create a booklet in class. Also, be looking for information about a research project coming soon.
- In Math we will review addition and subtraction facts, measurement, missing addends, and time. We will continue to work on word problems.
- We will do some Valentine's Day activities and exchange cards on Friday as part of our Fun Friday activities.
- The School Spelling Bee is scheduled for February 10th.
